SkinnyTinis: All the Fun for Half the Calories

Written By Recipe Coordinator

How do we maintain or lose weight without giving up small pleasures in life like a night out on the town with the girls or a stiff martini after a long day at the office? That was the question that prompted me to begin looking at alcohol differently. Instead of trying to avoid it, I'd prefer to find ways to modify recipes and habits so I can still enjoy my favorites. Hence the advent of SkinnyTinis!

I was so proud of my concoctions and revelations that I felt compelled to share them with the rest of the social drinkers who share my struggle. The recipes in this book have been tested, and users have rated them just as tasty as their high-calorie counterparts (if not tastier). The only difference? They have less than half the calories.

Create great-tasting cocktails without destroying your diet. So you're watching your weight but you enjoy the occasional cocktail after work or when you're out with the girls. What's a calorie-conscious woman to do? Have a SkinnyTini, of course! SkinnyTinis shows you how to make trendy, tasty drinks that have the same great flavor as their full-calorie counterparts, yet are made using easy-to-find low-sugar mixers and high-quality alcohol. From a Skinny Appletini and a Skinny Cosmopolitan to a Skinny Mojito and a Skinny Margarita, you'll discover both traditional and modern recipes that feature clever ways to cut the calories in half. You'll see how delicious, easy, and fun it is to make a Strawberry Cheesecake Skinnytini, a Vanilla Chaitini, a Gingerberry, and many more terrific SkinnyTinis and cocktails, all with an average of only 142 calories.

You'll also find important ingredient shopping tips, helpful hints and instructions for ordering diet-friendly drinks at a bar or restaurant, and creative ways to burn off calories from the cocktails you've enjoyed. And for you eco-friendly gals, there are even tips on how to make your SkinnyTini all natural. There's also a companion Web site, skinnytinis.com, which includes news, recipes, quizzes, and an interactive feature where you can design your own signature SkinnyTini. You can even register to become a SkinnyTini insider and receive a regular newsletter so you'll always have the skinny on new SkinnyTini recipes. Packed with tips, anecdotes, and dozens of bright, full-color photographs, SkinnyTinis is a must-have guide for weight-conscious social drinkers everywhere.

hey, i'm on a 1200 calorie diet at the momnet and my advice is that regardless of how big the portion size is as long as it is the amount of calories you are aiming to eat for dinner then its fine to eat. like yesterday i had a big bowl of soup that i bought from the supermarket that was 340 calories, it was a lot of soup but it was only 340 calories which is in my 400 calorie range. the reason they are large is because they are healthy foods such as vegetables, if you were to have a regular portion of this is may only add up to 170-ish calories because its little amounts of low calorie foods so to keep a balance they offer them in larger portion sizes. (i have a feeling that paragraph is confusing) so basically, as long as there is around 400 calories in your portion you are perfectly fine to eat it despite whether is is a large portion of a small portion.i hope your diet goes well! mines going really well, lost 7 pounds in my first week and a half!
