Spring Lemon Treats

Spring seems to have broken out here in Georgia! After a colder than usual winter, our temperatures have reached into the upper 60’s and may even reach that wonderful 70 degree mark by Friday. When I think of spring I tend to think of bright colors and even more so, I think of tangy and zesty fruit.

Lemons are a particular favorite of mine. They are colorful and have a distinct taste that seems to bring out flavor in everything they are paired with. Lemons are nature’s top source of citric acid and can even be used as an insect repellent.  For our purposes, we will pair lemons with dates and walnuts to create a terrific spring recipe. Even if it does not feel like spring where you live, create a batch of these Spring Lemon Treats and maybe your spring will come sooner rather than later. Enjoy!

Spring Lemon Treats

1 cup chopped pitted dates

1 cup raw walnuts

1 cup sesame seeds

1/4 cup lemon juice

2 teaspoons freshly grated lemon zest

1/2cup unsweetened dried coconut flakes

1. Place dates, walnuts, sesame seeds, lemon juice and zest in a food processor.

2. Pulse and blend until completely mixed. The mixture will be slightly sticky.

3.With dampened hands, roll tablespoons of mixture into balls.

4. Roll in coconut and chill until ready to serve.

Just read a news post today on AOL regarding a banker who made a 1% tip off the 130 dollars dinner.
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/02/24/banker-1-percent-tip-re ceipt_n_1299280.html?icid=maing-grid7%7Cmain5%7Cdl1%7Csec1_lnk1%26pLid%3D138350

The story acquired loads of swell and it is such a problem. It seems that in U . s . way of life leaving a One pct tip is actually more intense than not paying for the supper whatsoever. Don't you assume that we Us residents are too used to the very idea of tipping? I was in Australia this particular past year and australians don't tip usually
as they think that the regional laborers presently get the pay that they deserve. I do think the thought of tipping is really mindless and that is exactly how for the recruiters to reduce salary and not pay the staff members just as much wishing that the gap might be covered by the client. So it's the actual purchaser that has got to pay for every little thing. Don't you think that is a little dumb? I thinking that tipping is reasonable if you obtain the service quality you didn't anticipate. It can be completely inappropriate to tip if the service is just common. I will be studying this particular theme for my term paper project and will also be publishing a report for college or university. I thought to utilize a company on the web.
