Food Events That Changed History

In the early 1950's, a close friend of future President John F. Kennedy set up a formal, intimate dinner party for the expressed purpose of introducing to him Jaqueline Bouvier. They met, hit it off, and the rest is history!

I think The Last Supper that Jesus had with his 12 disciples certainly changed the course of world events.

I totally agree with the Last Supper. To me, this is the most important meal in human history. Every time we go to receive communion, we reenact this sacred event.

I think that the most important, peaceful thing people can do is to "break bread" together at a meal.  No matter how opulant or meager the servings, it still is a peaceful sharing time to celebrate fellowship.

We have to eat in order to survive so we may as well eat with people we love and respect.

Re: Food Events That Changed History

In the news lately you saw where the President had a "beer" summit with the Harvard professor and the Cambridge police officer. This event will go down as a historic event. Food and drink always plays a part in most major historical events.
