Nothing beats the chocolate taste of a luscious Low-Fat Brownie Cake

brownie cake, but the calories force most of us

to forgo more than a small bite. Not this time!

This brownie recipe will show you how to make a low-fat

brownie cake that is every bit as delicious as the

high-fat version.

Low-Fat Brownie Cake

1 1/2 cups whole-wheat pastry flour

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 cup vanilla low-fat yogurt

2 tablespoons safflower oil

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 cup low-fat milk

1/2 cup chocolate chips

9 X 9 inch baking pan

1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and use a low-fat cooking spray to oil a 9 X 9 inch baking pan.

2. Gather together your dry and wet ingredients. Pour whole-wheat flour, unsweetened cocoa powder, natural granulated sugar, baking soda and salt into a mixing bowl and stir together. Set aside.

3. Make a hollow in the center of the dry mixture and pour in the oil, vanilla, yogurt, and just enough milk to make the batter smooth and slightly stiff. Once the batter is completely mixed, add in the chocolate chips. If you can find them, use chocolate chips that are cane-juice sweetened which will lower the caloric content even further.

4. Pour the batter into the greased pan. Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the middle of the batter comes out clean.

5. Allow to cool to desired temperature.

4. Cut into squares, and serve on a pretty dessert dish with a dollop of yogurt, some fresh fruit and along with a cold glass of low-fat milk.
