This burger recipe is traditional, easy and perfect for a weekend outing or for the all-important company picnic! Enjoy with a slice of watermelon or a helping of potato salad.
1 1/2 pound ground beef
4 slices American or cheddar cheese
4 sesame-seed hamburger buns
Lettuce, for garnish
1 tomato, sliced, for garnish
1 onion, sliced and caramelized, for garnish
Pickles, sliced, for garnish
Ketchup (optional)
Mustard (optional)
1. Season ground beef with salt and pepper. Form into 4 patties. Grill 7 minutes, or until done.
2. Add American or cheddar cheese and let cheese melt.
3. Serve on a sesame-seed bun with lettuce, tomato, caramelized onions, sliced pickles, ketchup, and mustard.
