Lemon-Mint Honeyed Iced Tea

Honey is a rich source of carbohydrates, providing 17 grams per tablespoon, which makes it ideal for your working muscles since carbohydrates are the primary fuel the body uses for energy. Give yourself a great pick me up with this lemon-mint honeyed iced tea concoction. Enjoy!

4  cups  water

4  bags  green or black tea

1  bag  mint tea

1/2  of a 12-ounce can (3/4 cup)  frozen lemonade or limeade concentrate, thawed

1/3  cup  honey

    Ice cubes

Fresh mint leaves or mint sprigs

    Lemon slices or thin wedges

1. In a medium saucepan, bring the water to boiling. Remove from heat.

2. Add tea bags. Cover and let stand for 10 minutes. Remove and discard tea bags. Stir in lemonade concentrate and honey, stirring until honey is dissolved. Cool for 30 minutes.

3. Transfer tea to a 1-1/2-quart pitcher. Cover; chill for several hours.

4. To serve, pour tea over ice cubes in tall glasses.

Garnish with mint leaves and lemon slices.

Chill remaining tea for up to 2 days.

Makes 6 servings.
