On December 16, 1773 a group of Bostonians, some disguised as Native Americans, board British ships carrying chests of tea and dump the contents into Boston Harbor to protest the Tea Act, a widely resented duty on tea. The so-called Boston Tea Party leads Parliament to impose the Intolerable Acts, which close the port of Boston to trade, and further alienate the American colonists, who rebel in the American Revolution (1775-1783). This July 4th beverage recipe has been adapted for our modern times into a great cocktail to be served after the kids have gone to bed!
3/4 ounce Blue Curacao
3/4 ounce gin
3/4 ounce tequila
3/4 ounce light rum
3/4 ounce vodka
1 1/2 ounces sweet and sour mix
1 ounce Sprite (or any lemon-lime soda)
1. Fill pint glass with ice, combine ingredients, shake and serve with a lemon wedge.
2. This one really packs a punch.
Too many of these will have you seeing stars and stripes.
