1 cup of sugar

1 cup of water

1. Combine the sugar and water in a small saucepan and bring to a simmer.

2. Continue simmering, stirring just until the sugar dssolves, 2 or 3 minutes.

3. Remove from the heat and let cool to room temperature.

4. Transfer to a bottle that you can fit with a speed pour.

Use clean, empty liquid bottles, but at home you might want to use something more decorative.

5. Store your syrup in the refrigerator for up to one month.

Here's a little tip of mine for Simple Syrup, Pick up a few plastic ice cube trays at a dollar market. Pour the syrup in and freeze. When the cubes are solid, transfer them into a zipper bag and place in the freezer. I also do this with the liquid in Maraschino cherry jars for punch!
