Louis D. from Morristown, NJ. submitted Vanilla Rum Tea

this recipe honoring his late mother Agnes.

Agnes used to make this recipe to honor

special occasions and as a mainstay during

holiday family gatherings and weekend bridge

get togethers. This creation is economical

and a breeze to make.

Vanilla Rum Tea

Makes 4 (about 7-ounce) servings

3 cups freshly brewed orange pekoe tea

1/3 cup dark rum

1/4 cup packed brown sugar

2 teaspoons vanilla

thin orange slices, halved (optional)

1. In a medium saucepan, combine tea, rum, brown sugar, and vanilla. Heat until steamy, stirring to dissolve brown sugar.

2. If desired, garnish servings with orange half-slices. Makes 4 (about 7-ounce) servings.
