A solid, 337 calorie French toast recipe that is quick, tasteful and guaranteed to start the day off right!
2 tablespoons part-skim ricotta cheese
2 slices whole-grain bread
1 teaspoon honey
Pinch + 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 tablespoon sliced almonds
1 egg
1 tablespoon 1% milk
Handful of fresh berries
1. Spread ricotta on bread.
2. Drizzle with honey and sprinkle with a pinch of cinnamon.
3. Top with sliced almonds and other slice of bread.
4. Whisk together egg, milk, and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon.
5. Coat sandwich in egg mixture and cook over medium heat on a nonstick griddle until bread is lightly browned on both sides and cheese is melted.
Serve with berries. Sprinkle with powdered sugar, if desired.
