Dae Thompson of Marietta, Georgia submitted a wonderfully rich brownie recipe. These brownies are a cross between a toll house cookie and a brownie.  This is a mega hit at bake sales!

Congo Squares

1 box dark brown sugar

3/4 cup canola oil

3 eggs

2  2/3 cups all-purpose flour, sifted

2  3/4 tsp. baking powder

1 bag semi-sweet chocolate chips

1 cup chopped pecans

1 cup raisins

1. Preheat oven 350F. Oil coat a 17” X 12” X 2” baking pan.

2. With an electric mixer in a large bowl, combine brown sugar, canola oil and eggs, blend well. Add flour and baking powder. Blend well.

3. With a sturdy spoon, stir in chips, pecans and raisins. Mix well. Pat mixture into baking pan.

4. Bake 25 – 35 minutes until light brown on top. Cool in pan about 15 minutes.

5.  Cut into 1 ½” to 2” squares.
