Christmas Tree Cakes‏

This Christmas cookie recipe may be a tad early but I thought I'd contribute this cutie. This is easy, such fun and makes a lovely centerpiece. I promise the li'l elves will love it!

Supplies:

Cone shaped paper water cooler cups

Disposable oblong aluminum pan about 14x9 inches

Jelly roll pan that the disposable pan fits into

Non-stick spray

Brownie mix, white cake mix or any cake recipe

Icing gels in red, green and white

Decorations, sprinkles, candy stars for the top

1. Preheat oven 350*F. Turn aluminum pan upside down. Punch holes large enough and far enough apart to insert the cones point side down and 2 inches apart.

2. Prepare the cake or brownie mix according to the package directions or your own recipe.

3. Spray each cone with non-stick spray.

4. Fill each cone with batter to 3/4 full.

5. Bake 20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

6. Remove from oven and let rest 20 minutes.

7. Then carefully peel off paper cone, snip carefully with small scissors if necessary. If needed, cut the cake cone to level the base.

8. Let cakes cool completely before decorating with icing and other decorations, sprinkles, etc.

Place the trees on a platter scattered with white candy bits or white icing.

Makes 12 cookies.
