Little Mary Beth T. of Grand Junction, CO. Walnut Snowflake Cookies

submitted this recipe because she wanted to

share with the world cookies that she loves to

make and eat. The cookie recipe is visually wonderful

and taste even better. Have a pot of hot

chocolate at the ready!

Walnut Snowflake Cookies

1 cup butter, softened

3/4 cup powdered sugar

2 teaspoons vanilla

2 cups flour

1 cup finely chopped walnuts

1 cup white chocolate chips

1. In a mixing bowl beat butter, sugar and vanilla until fluffy. Gradually add flour. Stir in walnuts.

2. Divide dough in half and shape into 2 logs. Roll in wax paper and refrigerate for 1 hour.

3. Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Cut each log into 1/4" slices. Place on cookie sheets sprayed with non-stick cooking spray. Bake 12 to 15 minutes.

4. Cool cookies 2 minutes on cookie sheet before transferring to wire rack to cool completely.

5. Melt white chocolate and pour into zipper bag. Snip one corner and use to decorate cookies with a snowflake design.
