85% of rice consumed in the U.S. is grown here! Farmers in Arkansas, California, Louisiana, Texas, Missouri and Mississippi produce about 19 billion pounds of rice each year.

This recipe was a "Rice to the Rescue!" Recipe Contest Winner - Debbie Jandro.

3 cups cooked medium grain rice

3 cups milk

1/2 cup sugar

1/4 cup butter

2 cinnamon sticks

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Ground cinnamon (optional)

Whipped cream (optional)

1. Combine rice, milk, sugar, butter and cinnamon sticks in 2-quart saucepan.

2. Cook over medium heat until thick and creamy (20 to 25 minutes), stirring frequently.

3. Remove from heat; remove cinnamon and stir in vanilla.

4. Sprinkle with cinnamon and top with whipped cream, if desired.
