Dried Fruit Compote‏

This fruit recipe is perfect for a great start in the morning or early afternoon. Use your favorite brand of yogurt and take advantage of this simple, thrilling and natural concoction. 

 

1/3 cup dried fruit (apricots, figs, prunes), coarsely chopped

 

2 cardamom pods, lightly crushed

 

1/2 cup boiling water

 

juice of 2 oranges, about 1/2 cup

 

1 tablespoon fat free plain yogurt

 

 

1. Place the fruit and crushed cardamom in a large heatproof bowl.

 

2. Pour over the water and orange juice and let soak for at least 3 hours.

 

3. Remove the cardamom and serve with the yogurt swirled in.

 

Makes 1 serving.
