Toasted Walnuts

A toasted walnut recipe just in time for the fall entertaining season! California walnuts are harvested late August through November and then stored in cold storage to maintain freshness. Toasted walnuts are an outstanding snack and perfect for a holiday table.

California walnuts (use quantity desired)

1 serving of walnuts is 1-ounce, about 1/4 cup, or 14 halves

Baking:

1. Preheat oven to 350*F.

2. Arrange walnuts on a cookie sheet in a single layer.

3. Bake 8 to 10 minutes, checking frequency.

Stovetop:

1. Cook walnuts in a skillet at medium-high heat for 3-5 minutes, stirring frequently.

Note: Walnuts can be toasted dry or with a dash of oil.

A great homemade gift idea! Even for those of us that are not good cooks. I like how simple it is, and that it does not require a lot of ingrediants.
