This exceptional tailgating recipe is perfect for early fall at Lambeau Field in Green Bay of in the company of friends and family at home. The fresh mint leaves add a very appealing flavor and color to such a simple, economical and tasty salad.
1/3 cup honey
1 tablespoon sugar
1/2 cup orange juice
2 fresh lemons
2 tablespoons chopped fresh mint leaves
4 cups cubed cantaloupe
2 cubs honeydew melon
2 cups watermelon
1. In a small bowl sauce pan combine combine honey with sugar, cook on medium-high heat while continually stirring until sugar is completely dissolved.
2. Let stand for 10 minutes.
3. Add orange juice, juice from lemons and mint leaves and mix well.
4. Place cubed melon in a large serving bowl and pour honey mixture on top.
5. Toss gently to coat and serve immediately or cover and refrigerate until game time.
