Vince Dooley Bloody Marys (University of Georgia Tailgating Recipes)

Shirley B. of Dacula, Georgia submitted this outstanding cocktail recipe as a compliment to any late night pre-game party or early-morning tailgate reunion. This recipe actually is quite healthy and sure to pep up even the most tired tailgaters. Go Dogs!!!

2 1/2 cups good-quality tomato juice

1 cup vodka

1/4 cup fresh lemon juice

2 teaspoons prepared horseradish, drained

1 teaspoon beef broth

1 teaspoon hot pepper sauce

1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

Ice

4 lime wedges

4 stuffed green olives

4 celery stalks

4 shrimp, cooked, shelled, and deveined, with tails intact (optional)

1. In a one-quart thermos, combine the tomato juice, vodka, lemon juice, horseradish, broth, pepper sauce, and Worcestershire sauce.

2. Stir to combine, and close the thermos.

3. Pour over ice to serve.

4. Garnish each serving with a lime wedge, an olive, a celery stalk, and shrimp (if using).

Makes 4-6 servings.
