Jodi R. of Tifton, GA. uses this recipe quite often and always
sprinkles on extra, extra cheese. Her three children swear this is the best mac and cheese in Tift County!
Sharp Macaroni and Cheese
Makes 4-6 Servings
2 cups elbow macaroni
1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted
4 egg beaten to a froth
3 cups milk
2 cup grated sharp Cheddar cheese
pinch of salt
1. Preheat the oven to 350*F. Cook the macaroni in salted boiling water as directed on the package and drain.
2. Return to the pot and add the butter, then the eggs and milk. Stir in the cheese and add the salt to taste.
3. Place in a greased 1 1/2-quart casserole and bake for about 30 minutes or until the liquid is firm but not dry.
