Fried Matza (Passover)

This fried matza recipe is simple, tasty and follows many years of Jewish tradition. A great way to bring the Passover feast into your home!

 

Fried Matza

 

2 eggs

 

1/2 cup milk or water

 

1/4 teaspoon salt

 

Dash of cinnamon

 

2 sheets matza

 

3 tablespoons matza

 

Sugar, cinnamon, applesauce, or honey for serving

 

 

1. In a large bowl, beat eggs. Addmilk or water, salt and cinnamon.

 

2. Break matza into this mixture. Stir well, until soaked.

 

3. In large skillet, melt shortening over medium heat, add matza miixture . Cook, covered, over moderate heat about 10 minutes, until browned on underside.

 

4. Turn and brown other side about 3 minutes.

 

5. Serve hot, plain or with spriinkling of sugar , cinnamon, appleasauce, or honey.

 

Makes 2 servings.
