Taste-of-Coke Barbecue Sauce (Georgia July 4th Barbecue Recipe)

This sweet and savory, easy-to-make barbecue sauce recipe comes courtesy of the World of Coca-Cola in Atlanta, Georgia. Atlanta, Georgia is the international headquarters of the Coca-Cola Company as well as one of the original thirteen colonies that fought for independence from Great Britain. We love our coca-cola and we especially dig great barbecue. This July 4th is the perfect day to make this special barbecue sauce. Slather on ribs, chicken and naturally pork. Happy July 4th America!

2 medium onions

3/4 cup Coca-Cola

3/4 cup ketchup

2 Tablespoons vinegar

2 Tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

1/2 teaspoon chili powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1. Shred or blender-chop onions.

2. Combine all ingredients. Bring to a boil; cover pan.

3. Reduce heat and simmer about 45 minutes until sauce is very thick.

4. Stir occasionally.

Makes about 2 cups.
