Turkey Gravy with White Wine and Garlic (Thanksgiving Side Dish Recipes)

This Thanksgiving gravy side dish is simple, elegant and perfect for such a wonderful occasion. The blending of white wine and garlic adds a lovely touch and texture to what will surely become a Thanksgiving Day table favorite. Happy Thanksgiving!

2 (.87-Ounce) packages turkey gravy mix

1/4 cup all-purpose flour

2 cups cold water

1/4 cup dry white wine

1 cup turkey pan drippings or turkey broth

1/4 teaspoon garlic powder with parsley

1/4 teaspoon dried thyme leaves

1. Combine gravy mix and flour in large saucepan over medium heat. Gradually stir in water and turkey drippings with wire whisk until smooth. Stir in garlic powder and thyme.

2. Stirring frequently, cook on medium-high heat until gravy comes to boil.

3. Immediately reduce heat to low; simmer 5 minutes or until thickened, stirring occasionally. (Gravy will continue to thicken upon standing.)

Makes 12 (1/4 cup) servings.
