Lois W. from Braselton, GA. uses this simple recipe on special
occasions, especially during apple season. This recipe packs quite a wallop of flavors. The recipe is economical and great for after church brunch with the family!
Apple Pork Chops
Makes 4 Servings
4 pork chops, about 3/4 inch thick
1 onion, chopped
2 cups mushrooms, sliced
2 tbsp. balsamic vinaigrette dressing
1 1/2 cups white rice, uncooked
1 can (10 1/2 oz.) condensed chicken broth
1 can broth water
2 red apples, chopped
1 tsp. dried thyme leaves
1. Spray large nonstick skillet with cooking spray. Add chops; cook on medium-high heat 4 minutes on each side or until browned.
2. Add onion, mushrooms, and dressing, Cook an additional 3 minutes.
3. Stir in rice, broth, water, apples and thyme. Reduce heat to medium; simmer 10 minutes or until chops are heated through.
