Fresh Salsa

Salsa is my favorite condiment period. This salsa recipe is simple, straightforward and amazingly tasty. You can make this salsa hotter by adding more peppers or make it sweeter by adding fruit. Experiment and come up with your own special taste. This recipe can serve as a guidepost or starting point.

2 cups chopped tomatoes (or a combination of tomatoes and fresh peaches, nectarines, mangoes, or grapes)

1/3 cup chopped yellow or white onion

2 tablespoons chopped cilantro

2 tablespoons lime juice

1 to 2 jalapeño or Serrano peppers, steamed, seeded and finely chopped

Salt to taste

1. Put all the ingredients in a bowl.

2. Toss well and serve chilled or at room temperature.

Makes 2 cups.

Serves 6 to 8 people.
