Traditional Strawberry Jam (cooked)

A wonderful strawberry jam recipe that anyone can make at home! Strawberry season is from mid March to June 1st. On the average, there are 200 tiny seeds in every strawberry. Strawberries are fat-free, low in calories and are a good source of folic acid, potassium and fiber. Perfect for a morning biscuit or afternoon tea service.

5 cups crushed berries (start with 2 quarts whole berries)

7 cups sugar

1 box powdered fruit pectin

1. Stir powdered pectin into the berries.

2. Bring berries and pectin to a boil and add sugar all at once.

3. Again, bring the mixture to a boil for one minute, stirring constantly.

4. Remove from heat and fill jars.
