Fried apple pie can be made at home! This incredibly simple apple recipe can be made in your own kitchen with the minimum of fuss and hassle. Add a scoop of your favorite ice cream and be sure to share with the world around you.
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/4 cup lard
1/4 cup Crisco solid
1/2 cup cup whole milk
7 ounces dried apples
1/2 cup sugar
1 1/2 cups cooking oil
Water
1. Mix flour, salt, and baking powder. Cut in shortening until crumbly.
2. Add milk and mix until dough forms a ball.
3. Pinch off about 1/4 cup of dough mixture.
4. On a lightly floured surface roll into 6-inch circles 1/8 inch thick. Repeat.
5. Stack on saucer with waxed paper between each circle.
Makes 8-9 circles.
