This restaurant in Savannah, Georgia serves family style meals from big bowls at large tables the way that Grandma would. When you are seated you will probably be eating with the people you were standing next to in line waiting to be seated. Each day brings a special menu, but fresh vegetables, homemade biscuits, cornbread, sweet iced tea and classic Southern dishes are always on hand. Meatloaf is always on the menu!

2 eggs

2 pounds ground chuck

2 cups cornflakes, crushed

3/4/cup minced onion

1/4 cup minced green pepper

2 tablespoons soy sauce

2 1/2 teaspoons salt

1/4 cup milk

1 (10 1/2 ounce) can cream of mushroom soup

1. Preheat the oven to 350*F.

2. beat the eggs slightly with a fork.

3. Lightly mix in the meat, cornflakes, onions, and pepper.

4. Add the soy sauce, salt, milk, and soup. The secret is to mix well but lightly. Do not pack.

5. Shape meat into an oval loaf in the baking dish.

6. Bake for 30 minutes, or until done.

Makes 6 to 8 servings.
