This recipe was submitted by Jane Sanderson in Murfreesboro, Simple Baked Turkey Tennessee. The recipe has been passed down through the years from relative to relative. It is simple and easy. Enjoy!

Simple Baked Turkey

1 Turkey, analyze

1/2 cup butter, in slices

1/2 cup olive oil (Extra-Virgin)

4 pressed garlic cloves

1 tsp. allspice

1 tsp. salt

1. Preheat oven to 400*F.

2. Place the Turkey in roasting pan. Lift the skin above body cavity and insert the butter slices.

3. Rub oil all over skin on body of the Turkey; then sprinkle with allspice and salt.

4. Cover the top of the Turkey with aluminum foil.

5. Wrap the overlapping foil around the top of the roasting pan.

6. Cover with lid; also, if available.

7. Reduce heat to 350*F. For every one pound the Turkey weighs, cook for 20 minutes.

8. Remove the aluminum foil during the last 20 minutes of cooking to allow skin to brown.
