1 cup of milk
2 eggs
Soy sauce
2 4-oz. cans of mushrooms
Med. sized onion
3 cans of cream of mushroom soup
Oatmeal
Blender
9X5 baking dish
Frying pan
Small amount of oil for frying the patties
1. To make a soy sauce broth, put 1t-1T of soy sauce in a measuring cup and add water to make 1/2 cup of broth. In the blender, add soy sauce broth, 1 cup of milk, 2 eggs, medium-sized peeled and quartered onion & 2 cans of mushrooms. Blend well.
2. Pour the contents of the blender into a mixing bowl and add enough oatmeal to make a thick batter, just enough to make it hold together in fried patties.
3. Drop by large spoonfuls onto lightly oiled fry pan to make patties, adding oil if patties begin stick to bottom of pan. Brown on both sides and layer browned patties in an ungreased 9X5 cake pan.
4. Wheat-Free Gravy: Put 3 cans of cream of mushroom soup in a bowl. Use the empty cans to make broth (1-2 Tbs of soy sauce & enough water to make 1 1/2 cans of broth). Add the broth to the mushroom soup & beat with a whisk until smooth.
5. Pour the gravy over the patties and bake at 350° for 30-35 minutes. Serve with your favorite side dishes.
