Classic Grilled Cheese Sandwich (April 12 Classic Grilled Cheese Sandwich)

April 12 is Grilled Cheese Sandwich Day! Remember the time when your mother made you wonderful grilled cheese sandwiches when you came home from school for lunch. Luxurious and full tasting, cheese melting in your mouth, bread crispy and crunchy. That memory stays with me always. Try this All-American grilled cheese sandwich with a bottle of root beer or a glass of tall, cold lemonade. Thank Mom!

12 (3/4-ounce) slices Land O Lakes Deli American Cheese

8 slices white bread

8 teaspoons Land O Lakes butter, softened

1. Spread 1 side of each bread slice with 1 teaspoon butter.

2. Heat 12-inch skillet or griddle on medium heat.

3. Place 1 slice bread in skillet, buttered-side down.

4. Top with 3 slices cheese.

5. Cover with 1 slice bread, buttered-side up.

6. Cook until bread is golden brown; turn.

7. Continue cooking until bread is golden brown and cheese is melted (2 to 3 minutes).

Repeat with remaining ingredients.

Makes 4 sandwiches.
