Once warm weather begins to appear, my beverage of choice turns specifically to iced coffee. The popularity of this drink has exploded in the past decade. From Starbucks to Dunkin Donuts, you can now order a wonderfully refreshing cup of iced coffee. Sometimes I like to experiment and make it myself at home. The following iced coffee recipe can be made with little fuss or trouble. Jazz up your cup or mug and add a dollop of whipped cream right on top as a finishing treat!
1 cup coffee (ground for French press or coarse grind)
5 cups cold water
1. Take one cup of coffee (ground for French press or other coarse grind) and combine with about 5 cups cold water in a large glass jar or plastic container.
2. Brew on counter overnight or up to 12 hours, then chill.
3. Strain twice through a paper or metal coffee filter to remove any coffee grinds or particles.
4. Pour over ice for a very strong version, or dilute with some water, then sweeten and add milk as desired.
